Description

This was a collaborative effort with my sister,

. She popped up at my house over the break with fabric in hand and wanted me to show her how to make a plushie!

I (very badly) did the applique eyes and cutie mark, and she did all the machine sewing. I did the hand sewn parts (like the muzzle and the bottom of the hooves). We both did some of the stuffing.

She's made out of fleece, and this experience just reaffirmed my hatred of fleece. It's too unbelievably stretchy. BUT, I did finally learn what is the correct and incorrect side of fleece (I had been using the incorrect side all along

). She is stuffed with fiberfill, and has decorative river rocks in her feet. ...We don't have a craft store in town, and I was out of acrylic beanies. But, she clops like a pony when you bounce her hooves on the floor!

She turned out pretty well, (especially for a first pony,) minus my lack of applique skills. In my defense, it's all wobbly bobbly because I didn't have any thick backing or double-sided interfacing at home. My sister kind of understuffed her front legs a little, too, so her front is a little saggy from the weight.

Oh, and she also has painted seeds on the watermelon cutie mark now. I didn't grab those pictures.

Watermelon is my sister's OC. Her hair is actually a little more like Cherry Jubilee's, but my sister loves Pinkie Pie, and I had that mane pattern already.
